Sunday, January 9th, 2011

Many of us take for granted the simple things that make us who we are, like the clear white colors of our eyes. But for those of us who suffer from yellowing, brown spots or tints, and red veins we know all to well the saddened feelings that image can bring to us everyday. However now there is help for you. The I-BRITE eye whitening procedure was pioneered by Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler. It involves removing the membrane that covers the whites of your eyes removing the discoloration or flaws in this area giving it a clear appearance. The procedure is quick and there is a short recovery time allowing you to get back to your daily activities within a few weeks.

Below are some benefits of the I-BRITE eye whitening procedure:

Dr. Boxer Wachler is providing preliminary evaluations for this procedure by simply sending an up close photo of your eyes to info@boxerwachler.com to see if you are a candidate. The I-BRITE™ procedure is a no-stitch, no-graph conjunctiva removal procedure that whiten and brightens the eye by delicately removing excessive red veins, yellow growths, or areas of brown pigmentation.

I-BRITE™ is comfortable, quick and very easy to recover from. The white areas of the eyes (sclera) are covered by a thin membrane called the conjunctiva. The conjunctiva is home to the majority of unsightly discolorations and red veins that make the sclera appear dull, dingy, unhealthy, bloodshot and more. Conjunctiva that is in poor shape can be efficiently removed, in which case it will regenerate. The crystal clear, newly-regenerated conjunctiva makes patients’ eyes appear brighter and whiter than they can ever remember them being.

Here are more facts about the I-BRITE™:

·         Is available for appropriate candidates 16 and older;

·         Very high success rates with very few instances of secondary surgeries being needed;

·         Monthly follow-up appointments required for the first 3 months after procedure;

·         Annual eye exams are recommended;

·         Is possible those who wear contact lenses;

·         Removes pterygium or pinguecula;

·         Does not require amniotic membrane transplant (AMT);

Facts about the I-BRITE™ eye whitening surgical technique:

Monday, May 24th, 2010

·         Developed over 15 years by Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler;

·         No lasers are used;

·         Conjunctiva (thin membranes on outside of eye whites) are completely removed;

·         Conjunctiva is the location of veins and discoloration;

·         Patients enjoy a little Valium and Vicodin before the procedure;

·         Procedure often takes less than 30 minutes per eye;

·         Patients wear clear eye shields/goggles for 24 hours after surgery;

·         Can return to work the following day in many cases, if desired;

·         Patients should wear sunglasses when outside while healing;

·         Instantly recognizable results continue to improve as new, crystal clear membranes (conjunctiva) regenerate;

·         Antiinflamatory/antibiotic eye drops will be used after surgery for 6 weeks;

·         Eyes may appear red for a week or two;

·         Full “bright white” results achieved in 4 to 16 weeks after procedure;

I-BRITE™ eye whitening surgery techniques are designed to be minimally invasive, very comfortable and quick to recover from. Most of the time, the discoloration (brown and yellowing) and red blood veins in eyes results from years of exposure to sunlight. After receiving the I-BRITE™ procedure, patients are more mindful about protecting their new, shiny eyes. They are much more likely to wear sunglasses whenever the risk of UV exposure presents itself. The use of artificial tears works like sunblock for the eyes. Those who take good care of their post-I-BRITE™ eyes can enjoy brilliantly white eye whites for decades to come.

I-BRITE Eye Whitening: It’s Not What You Think

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler has been working on a procedure for the past 13 years to remove the bloodshot appearance of eyes and the yellowing and brown pigmentated spots on the whites of the eyes. Within the last year the process has been named I-BRITE. To many, making the eyes whiter may simply seem like a cosmetic procedure. The opposite could not be more true.

Unbeknownst to those without the condition, people who live for many years with discolored whites of the eyes ahve the emotional effect of a more traditional ‘disfigurement’, such as missing a limb. The reason is that people with chronic bloodshot eyes (or other eye discolorations) are constantly being asked questions like, “Are you tired? You look like you didn’t get good sleep.” or even “Are you doing drugs, smoking pot or drinking a lot of alcohol?”

Even if others don’t ask, the non-verbals are there when people take a closer look at the eyes and likely view them differently or with suspicion. After many years self-esteem and self-confidence can be eroded in some patients. Moreover, doctors simply dismiss the patients’ concerns with “nothing can be done - you just have to live with it.”

I-BRITE is having the smae type of life-changing impact as procedurs such as LASIK. In other words, it’s not strictly about cosmetics; it’s really about removing a long-standing stigma that is freeing and boosting to confidence and esteem.
